Year Five Retreat 2019

On October 31 2019 the year Fives visited the st francis Retreat centre at the start we did some prayers and got  light candles  we prayed about people in our life
we learnt how to work together we peared up in teams of 6 and did a treasure hunt in teams of people we do not really work with.

The Marae Visit

In week six the whole school went on a trip to a Marae we travelled by bus. We were greeted by Whaia Jess when we entered the Marae. It was covered in beautiful carvings. They taught us a song and played a fun game with us, then we went out for some morning tea and we got some time to play. The year 5 and 6 boys did a haka. I liked going the Marae. Mixed Media - Visual Arts

You hold the future in your hands.

In Term 2 our Visual Arts focused was on Mixed Media. We finally finished our pieces of art at the end of the term. We started off by creating two hands, most of us copied our own hands as templates. One hand represents our past and the other hand our future. We used lots of different materials and symbols to make our artwork as well as exploring a range of different techniques with water color paint. This is my art work.
